British light-welterweight contender Adam Azim is set to return to Copper Box Arena on 31 January as he takes on Argentina’s Gustavo Lemos in a major London fight night.
The 23-year-old unbeaten prospect will headline the event as he continues his push towards world title contention. Azim boasts a perfect professional record of 14 wins, 11 by knockout, and is stepping up in class against Lemos, a former IBF light-welterweight title challenger known for his power and experience.
The bout follows an impressive run of performances for Azim who was last seen in action in November, delivering a polished and dominant display against American Kurt Scoby on the undercard of Conor Benn’s high-profile victory over Chris Eubank Jr. In 2024, Azim also headlined at Copper Box Arena, when he secured a statement win against Ohara Davies in front of a passionate home crowd.
The January event will also feature a strong undercard, led by unbeaten British bantamweight Francesca Hennessy. Hennessy faces Ellie Boutell in a final eliminator for the WBC bantamweight title, with the winner earning a shot at champion Cherneka Johnson.
Speaking ahead of the fight, Azim said "Gustavo Lemos is a dangerous fighter, and exactly the sort of opponent I need to face to prove I'm ready for the very top.. Fighting live on BBC Two is a huge moment for me and to do that while headlining a big event close to home in London is going to be a special moment." Before continuing, "I'm ready to put on a performance and take another step towards becoming a world champion.
