Apex Legends live at Copper Box Arena

Last weekend saw fans from around the globe head to London where Copper Box Arena was transformed for the Apex Legends™ Global Series (ALGS) and the Split 1 Playoffs which took place from February 2-5. 

 

We saw over 2500 fans attend throughout the weekend for an exhilarating clash. Fans described how it was incredible to be part of a passionate live audience and to experience what competitive Apex Legends is all about. Enthusiastic supporters watched on as the best teams from each of the ALGS Pro League’s five regions competed in person to crown a global champion on UK soil for the first time ever!

 

Having been built for the 2012 Summer Olympic and Paralympic games, Copper Box Arena has hosted many world-class competitions and top-tier esports events since and the venue attracts innovative events as well as diverse crowds.

The Split 1 Playoffs event saw 4 groups of 20 teams compete in 6 group stage games followed by an elimination stage on Saturday and finals on Sunday. With a $1million prize fund, everything was to play for with the winners taking home $300,000!

 

Following an eight-game final at London’s Copper Box Arena, the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) reached a dramatic conclusion where TSM were crowned the ALGS Split 1 winners, finally regaining the title from Dark Zero Esports, who dominated 2022’s LAN tournaments.
