Excitement is building at Copper Box Arena as we look forward to hosting Hoophall International on December 2-3, 2022. The Hoophall Regional series is an elite group of events aimed at showcasing high school basketball talent from all around the United States.
The Hoophall International will feature four premier high school teams from different parts of the United States, including:
- Mater Dei, California
- Pace Academy, Georgia
- Christ the King, New York
- Paul VI, Virginia
Copper Box Arena in London will be one of four stops that will finish with the ‘Road to Springfield’ for the 21st annual Hoophall Classic which takes place on January 12-16, 2023 in Springfield Massachusetts, the ‘birthplace of basketball’.
The event has featured many of today’s NBA stars, including Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis, Karl-Anthony Towns, Zion Williamson and Anthony Edwards, making it an incredibly attractive affair.
Vice President of Basketball Operations for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, Greg Procino states, “As we continue to grow stateside, we realize there’s an opportunity to expand awareness of the game around the world. The mission of the Hall of Fame is to celebrate and promote the game of basketball at all levels, all around the globe. With our new international concept, audiences around the world will have the chance to witness top talent from the United States on their home turf, which allows the Hall of Fame to continue to expand and celebrate the game in new communities.”
The two-day double-header schedule can be observed below -
Friday, December 2:
- 5:00 PM – Mater Dei, California vs. Pace Academy, Georgia
- 7:00 PM – Christ the King, New York vs. Paul VI, Virginia
Saturday, December 3:
- 2:00 PM – Consolation
- 4:00 PM – Championship
Christ the King Head Coach, Joe Artbitello shared his thoughts on what it meant to compete, "It is an honor to be one of just a few High Schools in America selected to travel across the Atlantic for Hoophall International. Our student-athletes are lucky to have the opportunity to participate in what will truly be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We can't wait to see London and represent Christ the King HS and NYC basketball on an international stage!”
