The Major Ranking Event is set to showcase the exciting world of Nine Ball Pool with a 256-player field battling it out for a top prize of $30,000. This year's format will once more see double elimination through to the last 64 before single-elimination takes hold to eventually crown the UK Open champion
Last year was a highly successful event with entries selling out as Joshua Filler was victorious over Francisco Sanchez Ruiz in the thrilling final. This year is shaping up to be as big as last, with a total prize fund of $200,000 for competing players.
Emily Frazer, Managing Direcotr at Matchroom Multi Sport explained “We’re delighted to bring the UK Open Pool Championship back to the iconic Copper Box Arena, London once again. Last year proved to show there is a huge appetite for 9-ball pool in the UK and we cannot wait to expand on that this year with exciting plans for a festival of pool in the capital. It was incredible to see the venue transformed last year and we look forward to welcoming the best in the world come May and June".
Copper Box Venue Manager Stuart Hutchison added “It’s so exciting to welcome back the UK Open Pool Championship to Copper Box Arena. It’s a really dynamic event and a beloved sport that brings audiences from all over the UK and across the world".
