A memorable weekend of international tennis came to a close as Great Britain secured their place in the Davis Cup Final 8 with a 4-0 victory over Ecuador.
The two-day tie marked Great Britain’s first Davis Cup appearance at Copper Box Arena and the first Davis Cup tie staged in London for 10 years.
Toby Samuel got the hosts off to a winning start on Saturday, battling back to beat Andres Andrade in three sets. Arthur Fery followed with a straight sets victory over Alvaro Guillen Meza to give Great Britain a 2-0 advantage heading into day two.
Henry Patten and Neal Skupski then secured the decisive point on Sunday, beating Gonzalo Escobar and Diego Hidalgo 6-3, 6-4 in the doubles to confirm Great Britain’s place in the Final 8.
Harry Wendelken rounded off the weekend in style, winning on his Davis Cup debut to complete the 4-0 result.
Great Britain will now head to Bologna for the Davis Cup Final 8 from 24 – 29 November, returning to the season-ending stage for the first time since 2023.
