Heavyweight sensation Johnny ‘The Romford Bull’ Fisher takes on Croatian knockout artist Alen ‘The Savage’ Babic in what will be his first ever headline show at the Copper Box Arena in London on Saturday 6th July.
Fisher has quickly established himself as one of the brightest young talents coming through the domestic scene with an explosive unbeaten record of 11 fights and 10 knockouts since making his professional debut. Ending last year with his first professional belt, claiming the vacant Southern Area Heavyweight Title on the Anthony Joshua v Robert Helenius card, he was also named the 2023 Best Young Boxer of the Year by the prestigious Boxing Writers’ Club.
This year has already seen Jonny Fisher end his US debut within one round at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas in February beating Dmytro Bezuz and as he turns his attention to July, The Romford Bull had “no words other than I am locked in and ready for the hardest fight of my life”.
In the other corner, Babic - who is mentored by former World Title challenger Dillian Whyte - was on a destructive ten fight knockout streak before being taken the distance by Adam Balski on the undercard of Joshua Buatsi’s domestic Light-Heavyweight clash with Craig Richards in 2022.
Babic then lost his unbeaten record while challenging for the WBC Bridgerweight World Title against Poland’s Lukasz Rozanski but has since returned to winning ways this year when he fought against Newcastle’s Steve Robinson within six rounds. Speaking about July’s headline fight, The Savage said, “Johnny and his dad have definitely over-ordered this time in picking me for his next fight...I am going to enjoy teaching this POSH! boy some very Savage lessons," said Babic.
Eddie Hearn, Matchroom Sport Chairman, referred to the fight as “an explosive all-action Heavyweight WAR that will have fans on the edge of their seats on July 6.
