Former world champion Chris Billam-Smith will face fellow British cruiserweight champion Joe Clarke in a crossroads clash with world title implications at Zuffa Boxing 12.
Billam-Smith (22-2, 14 KOs), from Bournemouth, England, has won two fights since losing his world title and will look to continue his comeback following an impressive victory in his most recent outing. In June, at Zuffa Boxing 06, he stopped Ryan Rozicki after the seventh round of a modern classic.
Clarke (12-2, 9 KOs), 35, returns to the ring following a come-from-behind stoppage victory over Jack Massey on the same Billam-Smith-Rozicki card. The Tokyo Olympian will be looking to build on that performance as he takes on a familiar rival in a bout carrying significant implications for the cruiserweight division.
The pair have a history dating back to the amateur ranks, where Clarke recorded two victories over Billam-Smith. Their meetings included a decision win for Clarke in the final of the 2016 English National Championships.
With both men looking to strengthen their positions in the cruiserweight division, Zuffa Boxing 12 promises a compelling British showdown with potential world title opportunities at stake.
